We arrived in Davos Dorf (it's a million villages down here called Davos...) on Saturday night. A pain in the ass dragging on almost 60 kg of luggage (one giant NorthFace bag (20 kg), one smaller backpack (10 kg) and an enormous skibag with around 28 kgs in it!) So when you have to change trains like 2 times it's a pain in the ass, especially when you only got like 10 minutes inbetween the departures and you run like mad..and show the stuff in the door that almost shuts in your face. Not to speak of when you're going out of the train again! Anyways, we got to the place and found the apartment eventually. Davos got lots of pists all over the place. You can take busses to the surrounding mountains (all above 2000 meters above sea level of course) and it doesn't cost you a penny as it is included in the season card. So now we've been skiing for three days in a row and my ties are beat up. I am thinking of having a resting day soon! Got to get some rest before the course with a Heidi Zimmermann starts on Friday. She is supposed to be in a hell of a shape and smoke cigarettes like a chimney. We quickly located a great pub here, Walhalla, that got free internet and some Americans running it. Kids, fire on the fireplace, blues on the stereo, and every sunday you can bbq hotdogs and whatnot on the fire. The owner is chopping wood inside the pub. Good times!
Today was the first day with sun and my eyes are a bit sore and my lips as well. When we arrived it had just snowed again. So today we went to the freerider area and it was lots of nice snow to cruise in. Pischa, the mountain was called. There are even sledging going on here, and of course cross-crountry tracks both up in the mountains and down the valley. Tonight the rest of my group arrive, so we'll be 5 in all living in the apartment.
There's gonna be a meeting here, World Economic Forum, so the army has put up a camp with wire fence and all. There are even fighters flying over.
No pictures yet as I left my camera home today...and the previous days it's been foggy and snowing.
